The Horses

The Ray of Light Farm is home to 65 horses, ponies, mules, donkeys, and even one zedonk! From miniature donkeys to massive percherons, we’ve got ‘em. And just as their sizes range the full spectrum, so do their stories. Some of the horses at the farm are well-schooled, steady and reliable, and ready to work. These horses are used for our pony rides, therapy rides, and lessons. Other horses at the farm, like the rescue horses who sometimes have a history of neglect or abuse, are works in progress. These horses often need to be reacquainted with gentle hands in order to regain trust in people and allow for re-schooling. We also provide a safe haven for Premarin rescue foals as we seek to find good matches for their forever homes.
