Raymond

Meet Raymond, our tiny goat with a big heart. Raymond came to the farm when he was newly born. When a nanny goat refuses to care for her kid, the farmer often follows suit. So when his mother was unable to care for Raymond, Ray of Light gave the baby goat a new home.

Caring for a small goat is a big job, and Raymond was no exception. He was lovingly bottle-fed and cared for in a cozy bathtub home until he was big enough to move outdoors. Raymond’s caregivers happily endured the once-an-hour feeding schedule, knowing that he could not survive without their efforts.

Raymond was a sickly kid because he never had the benefit of nursing from his mother, whose milk would have provided nutrients and antibodies that would have helped him fight infection. As a consequence of his difficult past, he remains diminutive and is susceptible to illness. Yet he is universally adored by visitors, and is a testament to the benefits of diligent and loving care.

Raymond shows us that he remembers the early bathtub nursery: to this day, his favorite place to rest is in the manger!

Come and visit with Raymond! The farm is open every day except Wednesday from 10:00-3:00.
