Doris and Ron (Bouchard) began their Equine Body Work careers in 2005 after attending Mary Schreiber’s Equissage Sports Massage Therapy program in Round Hill, Virginia.  In 2006 Doris completed her certification and licensing in Human Massage Therapy from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Groton, CT.

Together, they began performing Body Work on horses with their training from Equissage and CCMT.  Soon realizing that their tool bag was less than half full, they began adding other modalities of Body Work to their repertoire.  They began to build on their skills, which now include Reiki, Myofascial Release Therapy, the Masterson Method, Cranio-sacral Therapy, The Upper Suspension Release, and the use of Infra-Red Photon light therapy.

On Christmas Eve, 2007, they received a telephone call from Mary Schreiber, the founder of Equissage, inquiring if they would be interested in purchasing the New England/New York territory, to teach the Equissage Certification Program.  Jumping at the opportunity, they opened their business as Equissage NE / NY in May of 2008, teaching the Equissage Certification program of Equine Sports Message Therapy.

In 2019, they developed a technique called the “Upper Suspension Release” which is a unique method utilizing Myo Fascial Release, Reiki, and subtle touch techniques specifically targeted at releasing tension and stress along the upper suspension mechanism and back, from poll to the tip of the tail.
