Keep the Light Shining

Volunteer
Volunteer

Volunteering can be a fun and rewarding adventure here at Ray of Light Farm!  We have many areas of farm life for which you can volunteer:  hay moving, mucking stalls, feeding and watering small animals, haying and watering horses, property and grounds maintenance, docents for tours of the farm, assisting with therapeutic riding and skilled horse handlers.  We also have many opportunities that are office related, volunteer related and events related.  We are lookcing for internet and Facebook specialists and fundraisers.  Our volunteers come from all walks of life, ages, skills and experiences.  We do ask that all children under 14 be accompanied by an adult while volunteering.

We have decided to personalize your volunteer experience from the time you fill out your application untill the moment you start at the farm.  We are offering one night every month for volunteer orientation where you will meet our staff, have a farm tour, meet many of our animals, ask questions and fill out our application.  Please call the farm and let us know which orientation night (they are listed on the events calendar) you would like to attend.  So if you love animals and are seeking a place to volunteer, call us at 860-873-1895 and tell Brenda which night you will attend to start your journey to join our farm family.  If you would rather email us instead, please do so at info@rayoflightfarm.org .  If by chance you call after 5 p.m., just leave a message and Brenda will get back to you.  Thanks!

Donate or Sponsor

Donations made to the farm are used for medical care, food, shelter, rescue missions and will help fund our events, programs and lessons. Ray of Light Farm is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity and your donation is tax deducatable.

Ray of Light Farm aspires to be more than an animal rescue organization; more than a therapy location visited by a few once in a while but a foundation for the community and families to grow and connect with each other and the animals.

The farm remains free and open to the public 6 days a week for visits, and offers affordable lessons and programs. But we can't do any of this without our donors, sponsors, and volunteers.  Please help us to 'Keep the Light Shining' for our animals and for the people who need them.
